myPOS, IQOM and SWARCO Partner to Accelerate IKEA’s Cashless Journey in Hungary

myPOS, in collaboration with IQOM Ltd. and SWARCO, has partnered with IKEA Hungary to help streamline payments at two of IKEA’s Budapest locations – a central store in the Hungarian capital and a “new generation” store in the suburbs. The “new generation” stores are novel and smaller IKEA stores designed to provide an even better shopping experience. By equipping the two locations with myPOS Sigma devices, IKEA aims to modernise its payment systems to meet evolving customer expectations.

The myPOS Sigma, robust and versatile device for unattended environments, has elevated the locations in two ways. At the central Budapest store, myPOS Sigma has been installed in parking kiosks, replacing the previous cash-only payment options.  Meanwhile, the recently opened suburban “new generation” store features myPOS Sigma at in-store vending machines for food and beverages. Both of these changes enhance customer convenience and reflect Hungary’s growing embrace of cashless transactions.

The myPOS Sigma devices support a wide range of cashless payment methods, including contactless cards and mobile wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay. With versatile connectivity options, the card machines are engineered to the highest security standards, making them ideal for high-traffic environments.
