Tap to Pay is a contactless payment method that allows customers to pay on the merchant's phone. Instead of swiping their cards along the magnetic stripe or inserting them into a traditional payment terminal, buyers simply need to tap their contactless card or mobile device.

Tap to Pay relies on NFC technology, which stands for near-field communication. It’s a short-range radio frequency that allows card machines and NFC-enabled cards/devices to communicate with each other wirelessly and process secure payments.

How does Tap to Pay work?

Tap to Pay works just as chip cards work on card machines. Utilising contactless technology, the customer'scustomer’s card or device transmits secure payment information to the POS terminal. This wireless capability enables smooth contactless transactions with a simple tap of the card.

What are the Tap to Pay payment methods accepted by myPOS Glass?

myPOS Glass supports different payment methods, including contactless payments with all contactless EMV-based prepaid, credit and debit cards by Visa and Mastercard, and digital wallets like Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay.

myPOS Glass is a mobile application that facilitates Tap to Pay on a merchant'smerchant’s iPhone or Android device. It is a tool that transforms any compatible device into a payment terminal.

To initiate a contactless transaction, the merchant simply needs to enter the desired amount on the app. The contactless symbol will then appear on the screen, and the customer has to hover their card over the device to complete the payment. There are no transaction limits - if the amount exceeds the predefined threshold, the customer will be asked to enter their PIN code.

Compatible devices for Tap to Pay on iPhone are iPhone XS or above running the latest iOS version.

myPOS Glass also works with a wide range of Android smartphones, the minimal version of which is 11.
