Finding a job that offers both pleasure and career development is not easy. At myPOS, however, Gabriela Ivanova found the perfect mix. 

She joined the company two weeks after applying for a position. According to her, the recruitment process was fast and smooth. She started her journey as a Sales Operations Specialist and a year later, Gabi switched to a new position that addressed her abilities and potential. Now, she is a Tariffs and Pricing Specialist, which gives her the opportunity to develop her expertise in a more demanding role.

“For me, myPOS is a company interested in the development of its employees and supports them in every step of their journey,” she shared. 

Gabi joined the myPOS team looking for a dynamic environment offering diverse possibilities. The team, work variety and overall atmosphere exceeded her expectations. After the company was acquired by the American investment fund Advent International in February 2024, Gabi recognized that it had an even bigger growth potential.

Here is what Gabi shared with us about her experience at myPOS:

Does the actual work at myPOS correspond to your expectations? 

To a large extent, it even exceeded my expectations. Even during the interview, I was told how dynamic the environment is, but I have come to realize the true extent after starting. Every day is intense and diverse. Mostly, I was impressed by the team – my colleagues are amazing, always ready to help. I was not used to such an attitude at my previous job in England. Despite being a team, everyone there worked individually, and you could sense the competitiveness. At myPOS, the atmosphere is totally different – we work together and support each other. 

What makes you smile at work? 

I might repeat myself, but I smile mostly because of my colleagues – it is crucial to work with people who you can call friends. Well-done work brings me satisfaction, especially when I solve a certain problem and see the happy reactions of colleagues and clients. 

What makes myPOS an attractive employer? 

Being part of this team is great because the company takes care of its employees and there is always someone to ask for help. Tell us more about your previous and your current job role at myPOS. 

My previous position was Sales Operations Specialist. It included coordination between commercial and operational teams on an international level, as well as optimization of the processes between different departments in the company and our partners. Now, I am focused mainly on pricing, monitoring necessary changes in tariffs and contractual relations with company partners. My previous role helped me gain confidence and skills in this new, more complex position. Until now, only two colleagues have been in the Pricing and Contracts sub-team, but they were looking for another team member to manage the growing volume of work and clients. 

What skills are needed for your job role? 

Responsibility, excellent time management and attention to detail. Since my team is small, all changes in operational costs, payment service tariffs and contracts between myPOS and our merchant partners go through us. It is crucial to be organized, focused and able to prioritize the tasks with tighter deadlines. I have developed excellent organizational skills which can be acquired with practice. 

Why were you chosen for this role? 

In the past year, I have shown responsibility and ability to be a project owner. I have worked independently, as well as in a team. In both cases, I have demonstrated that I can manage projects successfully. I think this is the key to my success.
